Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I'm a firm believer in following one's intuitions.
Nearly never buy lottery scratch tickets but was standing in the queue and one just caught my eye. Just had that feeling, this one is going to be a winner. So I bought one for a fiver and won a hundred dollars!!!

Is that an excuse to buy a new leaf blower Bill? You must need one around your way at this time of the year.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
As you may be aware I'm currently on crutches so getting out of bed to go downstairs is a mission. Last night I decided to sleep in the spare room so as not to disturb Stu with my restlessness as my foot is sore.
At 5am one of my cats woke me up jumping up and down on the bed and making excited little squeaking noises. He'd proudly brought me a dead mouse and had carefully carried it upstairs and laid it next to my face. He was so pleased with himself, he's not much of a hunter and he never normally brings his prey further than the kitchen. I think he knows I'm struggling to get about and so decided he'd get me a special gift. Of course Stu was less happy at me shouting to wake him to dispose of the corpse once I'd made a fuss of Iggle and told him how clever he was. But it did make me smile at how my silly cat thinks a dead body in the middle of the night is how he can show he loves me.

No, I would rather have not won it than have to buy a leaf blower!!! It is that time of year but I use the riding mower to blow them away . I love a beautiful garden but I do not enjoy any of that type work in the least!

Apparently, most of the calories are in the front end, so they generally have that bit for themselves, but at least he loves you enough to bring you something
My Jinx brings them in alive, makes a weird warbling sound as if calling kittens and then sits there waiting for me to pick them up, at which point he usually dispatches them! |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I get the warbling, and if the two cats are arguing over whose catch it is they growl and snarl at each other which they'd never normally do.
Of course this means they'll need worming, never easy, even less so on one leg (me, not them).

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
There are palatable tablets for worming and deflea-ing for my dog, but they don't seem to make any that my cats will eat, so yeah, worming time is a pain in the proverbial, and that's with two of us, with functioning legs
