Re: Vintage film cameras
I wouldn't feel guilty, sometimes you just have to treat yourself. So you were pretty much chasing a problem that wasn't there then?

It is SLR heavy. Quite a few came in bundles, either together or with a lens I wanted. Selling the MX winder, a few unwanted lenses, teleconverters and flashes, a few Minoltas, the P30, and 2 are going to China. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nothing wrong with buying your own birthday present Johnny. That way, you get something you want and that you'll use.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Reskinned the XD5 this morning. Johnny, I followed the technique you linked - I don't have a lens tool but used a couple of thickish pins instead and managed to remove the timer switch.
It looks OK in blue. There's foam on the back of the film door. I added another strip to sit opposite this on the camera body. I'll put another film through but if it still leaks light, I'll be tempted to reach for a hammer. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Looking good there Yoko, where did you get the kit from? Just won a job lot with a Kodak Hawkeye flash in plus three others. The two 127 Brownies will get donated unless anyone wants them for sprocket photography?

Re: Vintage film cameras
The cover kit came from this guy.
http://aki-asahi.com/store/index.php I also bought light seal foam too. In fact these pre-cut strips have been an absolute godsend. http://aki-asahi.com/store/html/ligh...tring/foam.php |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Looks good. I keep getting you two mixed up when reading posts! It stems back form the dial-up days when time was money so I tend to skim a bit too quick, apologies! Glad you got there in the end anyway.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Kenzie, the box camera in the charity shop is a Rex Coronet I think. Dunno if it works but the shutter fires.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hi Yoko, thanks for looking but I think I'll pass. Quite like the look of that Navy Blue. Going charity shop rummaging tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a good find!
