Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I bought a slow cooker last week. First thing I did was beef in porter which was delicious. Yesterday I chucked some lamb shacks in there with a Madras curry sauce. I'll have that tomorrow with roast potatoes done in good fat with Bombay potato spices.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Just had the phone call from my wife - yeah she didn't want me there with her.
Positive news. Ok so she has Cancer, but they are positive it is a formality to remove. I hope they are right - I could do with something to smile about. Seems like awhile ago since I last did it. Oh and the SV passed it's MOT! And Facebook told me it was a year ago today that I got it back after my busted foot. Quite a busy day. |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
That is brilliant news, put a smile on my face too.
Got a note through the door last night from the landlord who owns the house next door to say he has evicted the chavy tenants. Woo hoo - no more screaming arguments, sometimes spilling on to the street with the police being called. No more noisily starting up his monster truck style pick up at 5am and revving it all the way up the road. No more parking his rusted old lorry on the lawn. Best of all no more huge plastic garden gnome on the front step. Then I bumped into the landlord today, he's getting the massive conifers cut back that have stopped a lot of the sun to my garden for the last couple of years but he's leaving them tall enough that the birds can still nest in them. And he has promised that the next tenants will not be a nightmare.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
My Answer MX kit turned up. I only ordered it yesterday lunchtime and its here already. I'm really impressed with the service I got, Husky Northwest have done a grand job.
I must be daft start this madness at my age, but it's so addictive.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
On Wednesday I ordered a satnav from Sports Bike Shop for Stuart's Christmas present. Then after ordering saw Currys were offering the same one for more but had a 20% discount code which made it £22 cheaper. By this time the one from SBS was already despatched. So I emailed and asked if they'd price match Currys and they just replied to say yes and refunded me £22. So I get the best price while supporting a smaller retailer and it was delivered by DPD yesterday.
No more following Stu on one of his 'scenic' routes with me bibbing my horn and waving my arms because he's going the wrong way as he's got no sense of direction.
