Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Just seen one of the Jackdaw fledglings on the road outside our house, it was about to get eaten by a cat
Shooed the cat away, its parents are busy dive bombing a couple of crows who obviously know there's babies about. So hopefully I'll be able to get up & block the hole soon. I had the same problem Trev, as a bit of the roofing concrete mix had fallen out a while back, but obviously its got a bit bigger. That'll learn me to fix things asap

Wheelie bins. More specifically, poorly positioned wheelie bins.
Left where I've been working, narrow country lane with an s bend half way along it. Round the right hander, round the left hander and BANG! Door mirror taken off by a wheelie bin left sticking out in the road on the exit of the corner. £350 for a fecking door mirror!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
So you didn't see the wheelie bin by the side of the road and clipped it causing damage. What if it had been a pedestrian or cyclist?
Sorry, if that wasn't quite the case, but your post reads like that.

The driveway to the house is hidden by high hedgerow, until you are right on top of it. Pedestrians, with any sense, would be on the opposite side of the road. Cyclists should get a car

To be fair, I was only doing half the speed limit.

Gripe of the day - What is yours?
The A-Hole who pulled out on me on the dual carriageway.
I wasn't in your blind spot, I could see your eyes in your mirror. You could hear me because you looked when I bipped the horn. It amazes me you could hear the horn over my exhaust tonight which must have sounded loud as your window was down. You saw me again as you looked in the mirror while you carried on pulling out on me as I hit the brakes. I hope your clapped out Focus lets you down at its next MOT. |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Had big problems with Hermes in the past. Items purchased off ebay which have been signed for delivery but never actually turned up.
Ebay had a money back policy when it first happened, but now they've watered it down so that if the delivery is signed for, you don't get a refund. Of course the delivery company never actually shows you the signature to verify it, and it'd be pretty pointless with these stupid electronic signature devices anyway as no-one can sign properly on them. This leaves the delivery company free to take the pizz as much as they like.
