Have fallen for the idea of having one of these. This is exactly what i fancy. What d'ya reckon??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-CBR600F-...item19bcce53fb

The RR is obviously more sporty and apealling but this is the middle ground, sporty yet practical for loading up with tents etc...

The guys happy to part ex but i think the fact that mines due to notch up 40k miles anyday would definitely go against me

What kind of money do you think mine would go for privately given its 40k? As you know its well maintained with new c&s and braided lines.

You could always upgrade to a pointy 1000 like me - far superior motorcycle

Ive sat on a few cbr's and found them soooo comfy but never taken it further cos they were £4-5k and knew if i test rode then i wouldnt be content with the curvy anymore!

Wasnt even seriously considering it but for some reason i had a look at autotrader ths morning, and just fell hook, line and sinker for the black 600f's. An FS would be nice with the split seat but im not fussed.

Jeffs just got me thinking it'd be nice to have some adjustable suspension and such like, and i seem to be ragging the ar$e out of my curvy these days (99 miles out of the last tank!!) so thought maybe i should look for the next step up, for some reason i shy away from the prospect of a litre bike. No idea why, but thats me, no logic!!

Just been to see a 2000 Y CR600F! Its a bit tatty but nothing a bit of polish and tlc wont sort out (and a new can, hugger and screen potentially it can look very lovely, and has 22k miles on the clock though service history only goes up to 18k.

Im sorely tempted and Jeffs convinced me its the right thing to do, the next step up in bikes, but I love my curvy, its so much fun! The problem is that because the sv is the only big bike ive ridden im not sure whether the cbr can be as much fun cos all bikes are like that, or whether its an sv trait that i wont find in the cbr.

They guy's offered me £1100 for mine which tbh is good at 40k miles and im worried that if i keep it another year it'll be up to 50k miles and then its part-ex value will be zilch,

What do you reckon, should i go for it??

Go for it. I fancy changing but i'll wait till next year,. don't really know what i want yet though. I have seen a nice Honda VTR firestorm on camp. Really think i'll stick with a V-twin i don't want a full on sports bike quite fancy having a big twin though. Anyone got any suggestions, and yes Skip SV1000's already on the list of possibilites
