Nah, too far away. A near two hour round trip. Had it been an OM1 then maybe!

Going to send off some medium format film, two colour and one B&W. Could do the B&W myself but CBA. Will be done by the time I get back from holiday.

Making slow progress with the Certo. It was even oilier than mine but the glass is all cleaned up and looking good, and the shutter is back in one piece. It won't release on T but works fine on B, God knows what's happening with the shutter timing, but it often won't shut once opened. I think the turbulent path through the Royal Mail didn't help, had to bend a couple of things and found a couple of displaced springs, but getting there.

Wow, you got that thing back together???! Why does it have a blocker on the far end of the shutter lever?

When set to 100 or 200 there is a lever to slide out of the way and then you can move the lever further.

Ah, that's the self-timer, you can use it at any speed - or should be able to, I haven't tried it yet. Pull the little knob back to allow the cokking lever to travel further, and it picks up the self-timer mechanism and winds it up. I didn't know what it was either when I got mine.

The escapement wasn't too bad, I had visions of springs all over the floor. It would have taken longer if I hadn't seen mine, which is very similar, but these things sort of talk to me so I often get there in the end. The shutter release has a lot of little levers that interact, but I've got a Compur manual of sorts and some of the guys on RFF seem quite knowledgeable so it's likely just a matter of time. Maybe a long time... it seems to swish open and shut nicely on B so at least the problem isn't in the shutter leaves.

How long are you guys away for?

Well we leave on Monday for a week but I also have the following week off. I will upload some photos onto Flickr that I took while taking the Certo apart if that helps? I'm amazed you got it back together. When the escapement came apart I thought it was toast.

I go next weekend and am away until mid-December. I should still be able to come on here though. My problem will be uploading. Google, OneDrive and most file sharing sites are blocked out there. I think I can upload to my albums on here though.
I'll have a look around for anything camera related but generally I think prices are much higher, which is why I'm taking a couple out for someone.
