You don't really notice the tyre to be honest. The hire bloke warned me about falling off by leaning too much, but it was ok.
So if you are nearly done with the Certo then you'll need another project? What can be done about the focus stop?

Well let me see, I have your Bessa 6x9 to do, jammed K1000, and a few of my own! There is an index mark on the front of the shutter (black circular cover) which I think is intended for the focus. My plan was to see if I can collimate it to 5ft/1.5m, add an index mark, then you will just have to make sure you don't turn the lens too far. Inifinity focus means the lens is at its closest point to the film, so am hoping this is less than one turn out i.e. impossible to get wrong. TBH I can't work out where the index tab thing was attached, there are no unused holes etc. Will have to figure something out, or maybe something you can print up and add on. I guess instead of screws for the stops you can just use wooden dowels and push them in.

Taken a few pics with the K2. Not a great fan of focus screens without the split circle, but it's nice to use. not got the hang of the meter yet, it's centre-weighted but a lot of what I shoot has a range of contrast so that's why I like a manual camera, that and i fret overly about it! The shutter has a nice click to it, though the camera is getting on for twice the weight of the MX (or so it feels) so the moving parts are a smaller proportion of the weight!

Looking forward to shooting with both. Not bothered about the K1000 tbh if you think its too crispy. Almost like its had a dunking at some point.

I don't like to admit defeat but I'm not sure it's worth the bother, although you have a service manual, you could have a go, nothing to lose. Will bung it back to you with the others when they are done. Was it about a tenner? You'll get that back in bits or as a spares/repair one. It's quite a brick, I was expecting something a bit more refined as it is a cult camera. Anyway yep think it's had a hard life, I seem to remember the shutter curtain fabric has marks on it, which is a bad omen for the rest.

Yeah about a tenner I think. Came with a lens and a load of flashes. Back in sunny England now but not as hot as I am used to.

Looking good. Those last two are begging for some sort of coloured filter - yellow, red?
