Taking links out is something I have not done in over 30 years. Have a good look at the condition of the chain and sprockets if you have reached the limit of adjustment. Then buy a new set.

I changed my chain last night at YC's, it was not quite as bad as the last one, but me thinks the bike might need a good service... Man was it cold coming home though. I think I might have to change the plan for Saturday, Ice cream followed by a de-icer, coffee maybe

It's quickly ceased to be worth riding for fun on the bike in the cold with my crappy hands, although when I get me muffs it might be a different matter I'm still forced to ride the bike every day in it but thankfully don't ride as far as 100 miles in a day so not so bad
