I've used 'Sta-bil' fuel stabiliser in my curvy over the winter lay up, the bike wasn't started at all for nearly four months, I just put the battery on a tender for this period so it was fully charged and ready to refit, put some fresh fuel in the tank and changed the oil. After two attempts on the starter it fired right up with no missing or lumpy idle, warmed it up for ten minutes and took it for a nice long run, it was like it had been used daily with no fueling/running issues at all.
Can't rate the 'Sta-bil' stuff highly enough tbh, it's nice when stuff actually does what it says on the tin.

what about when its used to grow crops for production of alcohol such as beer and spirits? ethanol is the same effin stuff, the stuff they put in petrol and use for other industrial uses is made from different source materials so they get a higher return and less duty.

Is there another way to get vehicle fuel, yes there is.... Is there another way to get ethanol to drink, no not really. The Ethanol for Biofuel that western countries use is mainly grown on land that used to be rainforest, and thousands and thousands of square miles. Is ethanol production driving up food prices, yes it probably is. Just like the Bio-Diesel the EU legislated for resulted in huge areas of monocrops of Palm oil and Soya - again to the detriment of animal life and rainforest. Lets think, lots of famine in the world and land being used to grow fuels to ease the conscience of western politicians... and make sod all of 1% difference to CO2.

you cant stop greed. poverty stricken countries will jump on anything that gives them revenue even if it means cutting down THEIR rain forests.

there is huge amounts of unused land in the UK that could be used to grow crops for bio fuel but it would need a fekin massive investment to landscape. then you have to deal with all those environmental nut jobs etc.etc.

would bio fuel not be better served used in electricity production or transport such as planes and trains while the rest is powered by leccy.

there is estimated to be only a few hundred years worth of crude oil left on the planet then thats it... no more.. none.. nada.

at one time the crops were failing in the UK due to over farming until a smart person invented chemical fertiliser.. when there is a will there is a way.

VFR fairings back on and quick test ride. Up to temperature and redlined it using all vtec valves etc. Nothing came apart. Nothing blew up. I think I might have successfully completed the dreaded VTEC valve clearance service on a VFR800! I'm quite surprised.

Rebuilt the DRZ forks again as I was getting really bad stiction. New bushings this time too. Seems better with forks returning rather than jamming.

Just needs a test ride, but it's raining again surprise surprise.
