Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Tinkered thread became a discussion about pesticides for some reason.
+ Today I have been mostly trying to remove the Nitron shock from the VFR for a clean up. It would be easy if it wasn't the fancy version with remote compression and preload adjusters threaded through the subframe and ABS pump in the middle of the bike. Got there in the end. All while feeling like utter crap still. Trying to keep busy to not concentrate on how rubbish I feel.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
New rear wheel bearings for the bike. There's a bit of play in them, and being a single side swingarm with an eccentric adjuster for the belt - it's easier to change the whole assembly. Which is not cheap, by a means but is relatively easy to remove/replace.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
This is from Sunday, but a few weeks back as I was getting ready for a track day, I removed the signal lights, in order to have one less thing to replace if I happened to come off. Of course the bolts on the rears were badly corroded and the whole fixing ripped itself out of the rubber stalks, on both sides
I wasn't particularly interested in LED replacements, especially paying for reasonable quality ones, so I used a bit of 2-part epoxy (Gorilla stuff in the syringe) to glue in some stainless bolts. So far holding up well:

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
No tinkering but having recently sold my curvy svs, I have now bought another curvy svs, which should have been a naked! But it turned out to be a bit of a lemon. Not all bad news though the new svs curvy is an absolute peach so more than happy with my new purchase tbh. Handlebar conversion is first on the list plus god knows how many mods are in the pipeline!

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Insulated the garage roof above the bikes' winter home. I'd noticed that the frost thawed off this area before the rest of the garage because of the dehumidifier. I also changed the plastic sheeting's attachment that isolates the bikes from the rest of the garage - it was held by large plastic clips but is now secured by a couple of battens.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Fixed a small coolant leak on the bike. A seal i replaced a couple of years ago was starting to weep - relatively easy to replace, but it's location means its a coolant drain/refill & bleed.

In these times a seal that starts to weep for no reason is gonna need counseling from a member of the victim alliance industry... who will tell you that weeping for no reason makes the seal a victim....
