Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
A few weeks ago I had a very last minute, very challenging shoot for the suppliers of the new England kit. It needed way more time to plan than I was given but somehow I got it done, not without a lot of stress.
Today a Fortnum and Mason hamper arrived containing tea, jam, marmalade, pickles and 2 boxes of fancy chocolates with a note saying thank you for all my help and being so patient with them. I'm taking everything except the champagne truffles home. I'll share those at my department meeting tomorrow as they had to put up with me standing in the office going 'aaaaaggghhhhhhhhh' on the day of the shoot.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I've just eaten my chocolates, I did share them, yummy.
My smile today is that spring is now officially here because the MCC Young Cricketers are back on site. It's like the swifts and swallows returning from warmer climes. I had to give them a presentation today about MCC heritage. At the end I said 'Any questions?' Hand goes up. 'Yes, when are you baking us some brownies?'

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
After getting up early, making rocky road, doing my chores and valeting my car I had a lovely long walk in the countryside. Saw a muntjac, woodpecker, rabbits, lots of pheasants and on the way back came across a newly reopened pub in a pretty village where we could sit in the sunny garden to rest our weary legs. The lads enjoyed a pint from the on site microbrewery, I had one of these. Perfect spring day finished off with a home made steak lasagne and Simon Reeve on TV.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Nice afternoon beside the Thames just by Hamersmith Bridge watching the Boat Race with Lady Poppy. Found a pub near the tube station to have a pint and let the crowds ease before setting off back to the sane side of the M25. Will see what my pics came out like tomorrow as we're at least an hour later than expected getting home and I'm hungry.

Had to deliver a part to a customer on my way in this morning.
A slightly different commute to normal Stansted - Eye - Hoddesdon. 3 1/2 hours later I get to work, ready for a rest. |

Sunburn is my smile today. Odd choice maybe but I didn't get it too bad.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
When I got my Indian takeaway home last night I found theyb got the order wrong. Took it back got it put right and was given a free bottle of beer.
Got home ate the curry and opened the beer. Wife then pointed out it was alcohol free Becks. I thought it funny anyway. Beer down the drain and opened a Guinness Antwerpen instead. Ooooo. |
