Same, I find there's less dicking around with the oil level after you've cranked it the first time.

never pre filled a filter in my life.. if your pump cant fill it from the sump then there is something wrong. it takes seconds to fill from the sump via the pump.

i dont care that the SV is not a superpowerrangercladbalisticlicenceloosingpocketro cket, it does what i want and i love mine.

New R/R on the bike. This last one fried in less than a year, so will be going back to the supplier to get checked out.

Certainly no harm in pre-filling the oil filter, especially if the oil has been allowed to drain for an extended period. Those vital 'few seconds' after start up are the most critical, if the filter is pre-filled it helps the circulation of the oil to reach correct operating pressure/flow sooner. If the bottom end were ball or needle roller bearings... it wouldn't be so vital as they only need a splash of oil once every fortnight! but plain shells .. they need oil pressure first push of the starter. Certainly nothing wrong with a bit of overkill in my book.

In the Cafe Racer theme I bought 2 quick release pins to secure my fuel tank.
I drilled out the threads with a 6mm drill, the pins measured 5.9 mm and across the locking balls is 6.9.
The pins are heaver construction than I expected. and the shank is 35mm long, 5mm longer than needed.
My plan was to shim the extra length but despite measuring the required length I have ended up 11mm oversize and the top triple hits them on lock.

So new plan, order 2 more with 25mm shank. 10mm shorter.
