Has anyone tried any of the bolt kits on their bike seen a lot of aluminium bolt kits but i'm a bit concerned that they wouldn't really be strong enough is it worthwhile spending more on stainless ones especially on the engine bolts. Think alloy ones would be ok for the fairing and screen. Figure if i'm going to strip the bike right back and tidy it up i might as well do it properly

Rob,
I fitted a pair of GSXR mirrorcators after I failed to find a good set of originals after my off last year. There was a lot of measuring done to get the angles right, and a lot of head scratching, but I like the end result. The mirror position is better than original and I like that the indicators are higher and bigger. Apart from the endless measuring all I had to do was make up a bracket for each side so that they were secured to the subframe. It was a fiddly job but fairly easy. The original mounting holes were cut flush on the inside of the fairing (they were both cracked anyway) and the fibreglassed and filled before a complete respray. If you're interested in having a go I'll take some better pictures. These two aren't great but if you look closely at the avatar you can see the complete picture.
I'm planning on using some off cuts of the old fairing to blank the old mirror holes off, one day .

I can highly recommend Chewys Stuff for this - my curvy had a full bike kit on and not only do they look better than the standard cheesium bolts but you know they are not going to round off when you try to undo them.

Well worth the money.
