Re: Vintage film cameras
Yep will do some day! Not going to keep it. Yes surface mail is much cheaper, takes 4-6 weeks, the seller might be persuaded. The Kodak I sent over there was going to be £10 surface mail and that was a heavy beast, £15 for air mail.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Spent about three hours on the Contessa this evening. Reassembled the shutter, you REALLY have to follow the instructions, as first time it wouldn't cokk properly. I redid what I had done and lubed the timer pallet, and it feels fine now. It won't always latch when you cokk it though, which seems to be down to one sprung lever which isn't moving freely. Will have to investigate, I may have done something to it on the first attempt. In terms of cleaning, I'm no great fan of soaking or flushing, but everything is so shiny it's ridiculous. The Prontor shutters are way cleaner than Compur, so for the latter I'll definitely be soaking in the future! The main moving bit were fairly grubby but I think a bit of gunge on everything was all adding up. Click, click!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Wish I had the skills to do that, but after the Certo I think I will leave it to the experts! Finished work now until the New Year so will be finishing off the roll in the Certo and Lubitel 2. Will also be taking Akarette to finish off as well as the Bessa.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Got three shots off on the Certo and the weather has turned poor. Found a Pentax me super in a antiques shop but the winder is duff. He had a Nettar as well for £15 but I have one already.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've lost track, is that the Bessa you sent up here? Also not sure you need any more temptation but this is a steal, if you're up that way

Re: Vintage film cameras
It certainly is the same Bessa.
Untitled Oh, and I will need to unload the Certo in the film bag as its pretty much stuck like the Brownie was. I also cleaned out the viewfinder on the Lubitel 2 as it was looking a bit white thready!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Picked up another Ricoh Auto Half. This time it is a zone focus model and amazingly the meter still works so I get auto aperture as well this time.
