If the x700 lights are coming on, that's a good sign. Do they go off if you press the shutter button?

Not sure if it can be found cheaper anywhere else but measure up to make sure it fits.

And WYC was as dangerous as you thought it would be. Not so many Yashica lenses and they didn't have any primes. Torn between a 28-80 f3.8 and a 42-70 f3.5

Thanks Yoko, have ordered a set. Worth a punt and if any of you guys get a duff Minolta I can always post one out. Will need better tips or a replacement soldering iron though. Camera is pretty much mint and also has MPS written on it whatever that means. My batch of film I sent off last week should be back tomorrow so we can check out Johnny's handy work on the Certo. I have a Yashica 50mm ML kicking around Yoko, has some slight fungus wisps and the beauty/name plate is missing off the front but you are welcome to it if you want?

I know that one, it's Minolta Program System. Basically, if you are using an MD or other compatible lens with a green f22, it's fully auto. Set it on P, set the aperture to the green minimum number (I think you have to lock it) and then just press the shutter. The camera will do all the work. Good if you've got a few capacitors. I've got several Minoltas which could potentially pack up on me at any time due to the same problem.
I'd love the Yashica 50mm if it's going spare. It's always nice to have something like that for when the light's not so good. I opted for the 28-80 in the end. Another solid lump but it has a macro and is pretty clean. The 42-75 was weird; small and not much bigger than a 50 but looking through a viewfinder, the zoom range was almost negligible, like taking a few steps forwards or backwards. Maybe the limited range means good images but I went for flexibility.

Found it. Fungus is in the rear element. Its an f2 and has a 52mm Hoya UV filter on the front. PM me the address again if you want it.
