I sort of included Herefordshire, as we are neighbours --- went down some of your roads in the car last week around Shobdon, had to breathe in a few times to let other vehicles past.

New helmet day. Bit of faff fitting the Sena as it's a stick once job so hopefully the angle is right.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Some days the best part of my job comes about because of the saddest circumstances. Allan, 54, terminal cancer, probably won't make it to next spring. His fiancee wrote to MCC reception to say top of Allan's bucket list is to get Sir Ian Botham's autograph. They are coming to the Test. Can anyone help? The email was forwarded to me. Sky Sports were accommodating as always, and Sir Ian didn't just quickly do an autograph, he invited Allan into the studio to watch a few overs with him. He left Lord's a very happy man.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Quite probably, I'm usually on the pitch before the start.
Today's smile was taking photos of our chief exec presenting a cake to Henry Blofeld that was meant to look like a bat. Unfortunately it was more flesh than willow coloured, not really apparent from this photo, and with a short ribbed bat grip some of us thought it looked more like a dildo than a bat, including Swanny who got a fit of the giggles on air and was mouthing the word 'c0ck cake' at me as I tried too take photos and remain professional. I did not make this cake! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Perhaps they SHOULD have got you to make the cake...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Had to smile today, after I calmed down a bit.
Have been cleaning out the pond and as I delved down to pick out the bricks the waterlily basket rests on something shot out of the water and for a moment my imagination thought it was a piranha out for my jugular. I will admit to exclaiming a few profanities as I fell backwards in my haste to retreat. The frog just sat on the edge boards looking very unimpressed at being disturbed before jumping back in. Took me ages to catch the little so-and-so to prevent a repeat occurrence. All done now and as I sat back on the patio with a cuppa there was a distinct "plop" as residence was resumed. Oddly, as I was about to put the decanted water back in, I realised there was a second frog in there, hiding in a fold of the flexible liner, but that one was obviously a bit more laid back at my antics.

Hurricane Irma will pass far enough west of where I am that we will not be impacted by the damaging winds.
Still calling for up to 5 inches of rain here Monday night and Tuesday but we can handle that.
