Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I'm employed again. Have only been off for just over a week this time, which is a bit nicer than the three months it took last time.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Just taxed our little car for the first time (taxed by dealer last year). £20! Probably the least I've ever paid in VED.
I also have a smug smile that this car was bought before the VED changes brought in last April. |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
My beloved Essex County Cricket Club have just won the Division 1 championship for the first time in a quarter of a century. So happy for them.
And I spent today at a conference. Some of it was a bit technical and dull but the location and journey up there more than made up for it. It was at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. I avoided the M11 and took some interesting back roads. Then had a tour inside a Lancaster Bomber before watching the Spitfire and Messerschmitt (I think) take to the skies - a glorious sound. Tough day at work - not! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Been years since I went there - great day out as I recall.
Speaking of which... Taking advantage of my last day of freedom before new contract kicks Lady Poppy and I headed in to that London and spent a happy few hours in the Pink Floyd exhibition at the V&A. Lots of memorabilia and backstage info going right back to their early years ad well as props and reconstructions. Well worth a day out but you've only got a month before it ends. Only took my compact camera with me and I'm too knackered to upload them tonight but hopefully I'll have a mad looking school teacher to add to the photo thread when I do get round to it.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I MUST get along to see this, have a photographer mate who wants to go, it's just finding time.
I'm off to see Tom Hiddleston in Hamlet at a tiny theatre tomorrow night, a RADA fundraiser directed by Kenneth Branagh, only 150 seats. Then Monday night I've managed to get last minute tickets to see Olivia Colman in Mosquitoes at the National. It's had very good reviews but has been totally sold out. Two good actors in productions very different from The Night Manager, Broadchurch or running around being god of mischief Loki. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I've been to B&Q looking for a mechanical fixing. You know, nails, panel pins, bolts that sort of thing. I may be in my 40's but I still find knob screws amusing.
