Re: Vintage film cameras
Good score on the Balda by the way. I lucked out today, just some old Olympus P&S. Left it in the shop.

Re: Vintage film cameras
It's rare there's anything in the charity shops here.
I haven't figured the Balda out yet. I think it's automatic but there's some kind of light meter on it. The rangefinder spot works, shutter seems fine and there's a very cool depth of field indicator. It's a solid heavy thing. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Are these from Today? You got those out quick.
Image quality on the Yashica Mat looks very good. There's a noticeable difference between the 2 sets. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, I picked up a couple of rolls of HP5+ from Boots (buy one get one half price) developed this and the Bessa this evening, and scanned. One of the joys of being able to do your own black and white! The Mat is heavy but really easy to use and so sharp!
Johnny did a great job collimating the Bessa, kept forgetting that I had the 6x4.5 mask fitted. Sent from my Xperia

Re: Vintage film cameras
Greetings, glad you're happy! You've been busy alright, and the Bessa looks good. How did you get on with the slide film? I hear it's a pig to get the hang of, great colours and grain but far from idiot-proof. Not tried it yet, I think most people scan it though when I asked that question on the Pentax forum (lots of people seemed to be talking about Velvia) one or two people do actually mount and project them.
Wonder if Rocky is struggling. If he really has that much stock then his business plan is terrible. There is a used furniture shop like that in S****horpe, it's all cheap and fine, but there is a narrow path into it as it's stacked so high with all manner of, well, junk. So I have taken two pictures with the Contessa! I am going back to Madrid for one last time (I hope) next month, and on the list is a day off sorting out my dad's stuff and we are going to take a walk around the city, so will take a load then. Even in winter the light is great, the shadows never seem that deep, everything looks good, and lots of stone. It's eye-wateringly bright in summer mind. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well not so well on the slide front, the first shot I tried to take probably won't come out as the shutter stuck. Second one was hesitant and the third fired. I think it needs some tlc! If he has another sale on, I might take a look.
Hey Yoko, just hold fire on that AD2 mount. I am taking a chance on a Tamron 28-70 AD2 with Nikon mount for £13.99 posted from Rocky.
