Re: Quote of the day (sorry, Brexit related)
Interesting article contrasting remain and leave voters, seems remainers are 'little europeans' who are ignoring the rest of the planet..
https://brexitcentral.com/remainers-...ntirely-wrong/ Also Switzerland eager to set up trade deal with post-brexit UK ( ready to sign ), can anyone see why... Italy and Poland next, followed by Austria and Hungary - we will soon have our own trading network in direct competition with EU...

Brexit argument goes that as a member state of the EU we (UK) aren't able to set up free trade deals with the rest of the world. However, while in the EU Italy, Poland, Austria and Hungary will be able to set up free trade deals with an independent UK. Not sure I follow that. I must say that article written by the Brexiteer website has convinced me totally what a splendid bunch of fair minded liberal benevolent egalitarians the Brexiteers are, compared to those awful bigoted xenophobic narrow minded exclusionist Remainers. Bravo. (Oops, sorry that's not an English word, is it?)

Re: Quote of the day (sorry, Brexit related)
Only if you accept that project fear claims that after leave vote that unemployment would go through the roof, house prices would crash pound would drop like a stone and all the other unfounded garbage the establishment backed leavers came out with was also a lie. The bus did not say that all the money would go to NHS, just it would help support it - so where is the lie ?
The establishment even co-opted president obama into their project fear but he said UK would go to back of 'queue' where an American would have said back of the 'line', but then he was reading from a script written by an Englishman ( or woman ).

Re: Quote of the day (sorry, Brexit related)
I'm guessing your post was perhaps written for you by an American, a UK national would probably have said "rubbish" rather than "garbage". Who could imagine any US President being intelligent enough to use an English colloquialism for an English (speaking) audience.

Quote of the day (sorry, Brexit related)
Quote:
Perhaps the lie was the claim about the amount of money. The bus said "We send the EU £350 million a week" The fact is we don't. What we do pay some is paid back, or pays for things we would otherwise have to pay directly for. I imagine the EU paid for negotiating trade deals. Not any more. The sad thing is that almost a half of the population still believe the bus claim despite it being disproved. Even the Leave Campaign Director admitted it, as does Farage, as does Boris, was untrue but also says it was probably what swung the vote. I'm sure no one ever said the NHS would get £350 million every week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Red ones; 23-01-19 at 03:18 PM. |
