Confirmation on the waiting list for surgery to get my knee fixed, and joined the gym again to build the muscles around it! I may see a football pitch again, maybe...

You'll only go an do it in again, its your body telling you enough is enough

All my colleagues have accepted their footballing days are over once their knees have had enough.

Another colleague had his fixed, but over did it too quickly and had his knee give in whilst climbing the stairs.

You dont want to be a cripple for the rest of your life.

Default Smile of the day - What is yours?

Working late. Unpaid overtime. How is that a smile of the day I hear you ask? Well today we had the BBC recording 2 programmes about travel writers so I got to spend the evening with Michael Palin. He's so lovely. We have met before but sitting drinking tea with him really doesn't feel like work. And the BBC asked if I'd like to invite anyone to the recording so Chris8886 who is a big fan got to meet him as well. It somewhat made up for the awful 3 hour journey to work this morning.

Yep, I'd be happy if I had to work late for a reason like that.

Once you get to fifty the NHS leave you in no man's land with your knees in essex.
So easy as you go.
Even trying to get a referral to Kent is like asking for a pay rise!
If you have to get a knee joint replaced then apparently you can't neal.
So think long and hard.

Yes.
Cos when you reach fifty but given up football. All your freinds who stick with footy will be hobbling around leaving you free to chase the girls
