Re: Vintage film cameras
I think they also go under the name Ansco Autoset.
Modified version went to space! https://airandspace.si.edu/collectio...n-friendship-7

Re: Vintage film cameras
Didn't know that at all - or the Minolta-Ansco connection. I think there's some crossover between the HiMatic and the Electro 35 too.

Re: Vintage film cameras
There are quite a few cds type cameras around that look the same. Voigtlander VF135, Fujica GER, Ricoh 500G etc.
Some interesting reading about Ansco, including a patent violation by Kodak. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansco

Re: Vintage film cameras
I'll pass for now I think. Like your HiMatic, there are cameras I haven't put a film through yet and I'm slow. Another one would just join the queue. Bring one up to entice me if you decide to visit York.
I need to find an interesting bridge photo for this month's comp. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I think out of the hundred plus in my collection, I have only shot with about 30.
Have been doing some research on developing 16mm film. I have found that I need either a Yankee Clipper II or Paterson Universal 3 tank. The former Will be from the States and cost around £30.

Re: Vintage film cameras
16mm? Is that from the hand crank video camera you have or from something else?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Something else. I have a couple of Minolta 16mm cameras and I want to use them. Only way is to roll and dev my own. But my tank only does 35mm as its smallest size. Have you had your Rocky order yet Yoko?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Did some surgery on an AGFA Optima. To be honest I was looking to tear it down for spares but once inside I found that the meter works but the aperture blades were stuck. Bit of lighter fluid has freed it off. Will keep exercising it to make sure it keeps opening as it should.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nothing from Rocky yet. I guess yours hasn't arrived either.
I tidied up the FX-D this afternoon and changed a couple of light seals. The skylight kept falling off the lens you gave me - the plastic threads were worn and not seating securely on the end of the lens. I cut some thin strips of plumbers tape, stuck that on the lens filter threads and the skylight screws on perfectly now. Need to film test it now. |
