Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
That'd be the opposite for me, back to work tomorrow.
Mine, buying a new mattress for our bed, after my wife met a bloke selling them out of the back of a van. Nothing dodgy, honest guv, cash only

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
At work on a Friday, we take in turns so we get a cake baked every week. My turn this week (only once this year, thank god) and I baked a rather nice Magic Custard Cake. Was a great success and all the women were amazed!!!
google - Magic Custard cake - you'll want to make & eat it

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
A bit, but you make it as one bake and it magically separates into pastry layer, custard and sponge on top. Brilliant.

hhhmmm now there is an idea, that cake would make a fantastic trifle. i wonder if you could add some liqueur into the mix then bake.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
alcohol would probably stop the 'magic' separation of the three parts. Just make it and have a slice with a wee glass of sherry !!!
ps. all cake gone now, last piece consumed with a brew

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I really really want one of those cakes, not a slice or even a half, but the whole cake. Just for me, no one else... I am prepared to kill! My big smile today was going out with my dear Wifey, we took our darling little Grandson out for a walk and then when we got back home, I got to play tickles and have a cuddle with him until his Daddy arrived. I cannot get over how beautiful he is, I get so afraid that he is so fragile and delicate that by playing with him, I could hurt him, but his giggles are infectious and the look he gives me makes me feel like he is an old soul and I am the child. It is his first Birthday in three months and already he is turning into that perfect little person. In a funny way, having this beautiful child come into my life is healing the damage I feel from my own childhood. I really am a Grandma and I love that. When I think about it, it is amazing and I am so thankful to have such a beautiful family. Anyway, enough of this wet waffle nonsense. My bike build is going well. |
