Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I don't normally have too much to complain about, but today council really got on my goat and a couple of them got a courteous spray... low tone and no f or c bombs which was more courtesy than they deserved considering the stupidity...
First thing this morning a council enforcer (aka compliance officer) was banging on my back door demanding proof of dog registration. A cop can't even enter a property the way she did without a court issued warrant... The lunacy... my dog is registered in no less than three states, six councils/shires (make that seven), three in this state and five of them are life time tags and one is the next council over. His rego is to the satisfaction of state legislation... but noooo... each council has to have their own layer of by-laws which they'll spend millions in court enforcing just to leach another $100 from the rate payer because a dog spent two weeks in their area. From the horses mouth... that money (exorbitant for 12 months btw - his life time tags were half that) is used for compliance enforcement. Gaaah! Any normal right minded person would think they could pick a tag, any tag, there's plenty to choose from and make a phone call if he happens to get picked up... It has got to the point where I need to remove most of his tags and put them on my key chain, swapping them as required... otherwise the poor little beggar (he's less than 5kg) is dragging around eight tags including one with my personal contact, plus a microchip which he got in a shire that doesn't even own a chip reader(!) just to keep the idiot bureaucracies happy. |

my super power of invisibility when waiting to be served has miraculously reappeared. Wouldn't have been so bad but I had a bright blue helmet on

Pookie needs to see a doctor with a bright blue helmet!
My gripe is the inability to recognise that every Christmas my work load trebles, but they still think I have time to do piddly little tasks they can't be bothered with. They look so surprised with the long version of "go away" |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
A year after my accident the opposing party now want pictures of the accident scene, my injuries, my bike before and after and my damaged gear to make an out of court offer. Why didn't they need these last time they made me an offer which I accepted then they just didn't pay?! Or before it went to court the first time?! Grr

My gripe today:
Cars that have brakes that don't work properly, but only at traffic lights. These are the cars that roll 3 or 4 feet ahead of the stop line. I can only assume the brakes work when they park in front of a wall. |

Quote:
btw, out of court offers are shizz. if you go to court they have to pay expenses and hire a solicitor which costs them an arm and a leg and if you win they have to pay all the court fees as well. judges hate insurance companies with a passion and once you establish that you were offered and accepted an OOCS and they failed to redeem or change the conditions of that settlement judges usually go ballistic as they are wasting court time. |
