Thanks Johnny. I'll give the easy way a try first, which is going at it through the top. The alternative way is peeling the skin off and removing the whole lens unit. Thankfully, it's not necessary to disassemble lens or shutter but for me, it looks complicated.
Kenzie, it's the GS version.

Took the top off this morning. The pad has disintegrated and lots of bits fell out of the camera when I gave it a good shake. Replacement looks simple in principle but fiddly. There's very little room to get in there. Need to think about a plan of attack.

Joys of owning a 3D printer; I needed a lens hood for the Yashicamat, and rather than shell out £20-£30 I just downloaded one and printed it. Such a useful bit of kit. How did you get on with the pad of death by the way Yoko?

I cut a pad out of an old rubber washer and tried to manoeuvre it in but failed dismally. It's too small to work with. I'll cut a bigger one and try again later.
Did the AD2s arrive?

Yes thanks, they arrived safe and sound. Now all I need is some time off and some good weather to go shooting. I think you might need three hands to do that job, two for the tweezers and one to hold the torch!

Glad the mounts arrived.
The pad is annoying me so I gave up for the night. Can't position it and get enough pressure behind to hold it in place like I want. Tweezers are too big; I'm using bent pins and paperclips

Couldn't you get it into position and then co-ck the shutter? The pressure should then stick it? I picked up an Instax mini 10, should be here next week.
