Re: Vintage film cameras
Aye, that might be worth a try. I'll go back to it again another day.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I think the Sequelle is going to become a shelf queen. I have no idea how to get the lens and shutter off, this plus the contacts for the motor are not sticking well. Oh well. I do need to strip and clean the shutter in the Perkeo at some point though as the release is a bit sticky sometimes.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I went out for the m42 chinon 35 this afternoon and luckily took a camera with me. The lens looked good, nice and clean but on the camera, it was like looking through a yellow filter. It didn't seem to focus well and I put the camera on 'B', tried shooting it at different apertures and it wasn't stopping down either. The seller was a nice guy. (He had a very expensive looking box for digitising slides and negatives.) He let me have the lens for nothing as it was no use to him although I'm not sure what's up with it or if I can fix it. He also offered me an m42 Vivitar 70-150 zoom plus matching 2x converter for a discount price, which I thought I'd take to feed the Fujica.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Lol. Yes. Those were PK mounts. Sorted that little problem when I acquired the MX and P30 bundles.
There's a lot to be said in favour of the Adaptall system I think.... |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I forgot you had those two, have you shot with them yet? I might have to find some more Adaptall lenses but I have most focal lengths covered.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I haven't used the P30 yet but I finished a roll in the MX last week. I really like that camera and the viewfinder info; definitely a keeper.
I've now got a Yashica FX-D loaded up and ready to try out. Looking at the Chinon lens again, I think it's oiled up inside. There's like an opaque circle around the outer part of the last element and on manual, if I snap the aperture from 2.8 to 22, the blades lag behind, almost closing in slow motion. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
The aperture return on the md mount is sluggish. Fine on Nikon and Pentax. Was yours a plain p30 or a t or n model?

Re: Vintage film cameras
The P30 is just a plain one; full auto or fully manual. No half measures on this one. Some of my Pentax lenses are auto and usable on this.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I find having an auto mode useful for when I'm feeling lazy!
