VFR still in bits, Maxton dropped a major bollock by promising the suspension for Friday am, then forgetting to send out on Thursday! Then they promised next day delivery for Saturday, here by 12...... when they did not show up, ranf TNT who stated they were for next WORKING day delivery, Monday! I shall be ringing up for an explanation (and some refund of money!)

I have taken Friday off as a contingency to get the bike sorted and MOTs done, therefore hope to have it sorted by Sunday!

I`m gonna be riding a brand new bike after all the work thats been done on it and after a short spin round the block yesterday I suddenly realise how it feels to ride a bike with brakes! Big hugs to Mike again and now I just need my MOT pass on Friday and I`ll be all set.

Haven`t actually ridden since early September cos of my hip surgery etc so I`m gonna be taking it really easy for a while and build my confidence and skills back up..... looking forward to it tho and my first outing will be the Barmouth run

Mmmmm, very nice LP. The spring looks like it's wound down a long way though. I like the way the adjuster has several ways of adjusting it.

Yeah well, it's fast road / touring setup so will be quite stiff I would think. This shock gives an extra 2" of travel over stock as well (so Maxton claim). According to them all bikes should have 5" of wheel travel but VFR only has 3!

Forks have been revalved and resprung to match, but don't look bling . They have put 5Wt oil in, so the valving will have to be up to snuff. All their forks are built with 5Wt Putoline oil.

All units come preset for pre-load and damping, based on weight and riding style.

Feeling better now. Forks back in, front end rebuilt, front brakes mini-rebuild, coolant done, oil+filter changed, found and fixed the oil leak that appeared after last service.

Just need to swap over the rear shock, mini-service rear brakes, clean / lube / adjust chain and I'm ready to rock!

Oh - need a new headlight bulb for MOT to, one seems to have died over winter.
