My thoughts have been with Dave since Billy told me the news yesterday, and I can only echo what others have said on this thread. I met Dave quite a number of times and he was a lovely, friendly, gentle laid back bloke, who was obviously a very capable rider - I often felt very self conscious when riding in front of him, and wondered what he made of my riding skills!
I don't know what to say - I'm just so saddened to hear this terrible news. |

I can't say anything that has not already been said. Just my thoughts are with all Dave's family and friends.
A work colleague happened to pass by on his own bike shortly after and mentioned the accident to me but couldn't give any more info at the time. |

RIP to someone who obviously had a positive effect on other people's lives.
What higher accolade can you want than to have people say "they were my friend". My thoughts go out to his friends and family. |

what can I say ? Bugger springs to mind. dave was the best bloke i ever knew and he is already sorely missed by all who knew him. I went to see his mother today, and a few friends were all there to stand together in our grief. It's such a shame that such a good bloke and great biker should be lost to us in this way. The police report came out whilst i was at his house. It would appear that Dave was racing another biker at the time, they both undertook a lorry before the roundabout and the lead rider made it through, Dave unfortunately did not and was killed instantly. It just goes to show that even with the best and most experienced riders a moment of madness can cost you, and all your loved ones, very dear. RIP mate, all who knew you loved you and we're all just so bloody angry now that you did this and denied us your company by one rash act. Please everyone learn from this so that I don't have to read this stuff again about another of us lot... Dave Sibley RIP |

However it happened ... Freedom, skill and luck, all weighed in a balance.
Makes you want to believe that when your time is up, it's up. It's a wonder we're not a more superstitious bunch. RIP... my condolences to friends and especially family. What a horrible thing to be left with. |
