Okay, in short if you get caught overtaking on solid's you'll be done by the fuzz! Simple really. You're choice. Personally, I can usually wait or squeeze through not crossing the line.

I see something similiar most days with bus lanes, people ride along the solid white line or inside the main lane when filtering, it might be legal (or less illegal) but it's far elss safe than just using the bus lane. Of course, the rsponse to that is "Then don't do either"
