After 2 weeks of that I think I might have invited the Germans in to liven things up a bit.

Have a great time you two , my mates went there a few years ago for a stag do , they decided to write down the name of their street they were staying in , in case of getting lost . A good stagger back later on that night and they can`t find the street . They spot an Orange and White car (Police) and ask them "Where is this street please , we can`t find our hotel" , the Police look at the paper and wet themselves laughing ......... for ages . The guys look on in puzzlement and one Policeman finally wipes the tears from his eyes and replies "This is , how you say in your country , `One Way Street`" . The pillocks had written down the first sign they saw on the street , and not the street name itself .

Oh, from experience, its also cheaper for 2 people to drive to amsterdam and stay, rather than catch a plane, unless you get a really good deal.

Plus, with the 2 hour checkin, getting to airport etc, it actually only works out about an hour more by catching the boat, driving over (less if on euro tunnel, but not at the mo )

we got a better deal than that...... drew's brother and sister in law paid for our flights!!!!!

We have been five times in the last four years, and never paid more than £20 return flight each. Depends if you are flexible on when you can go, but we saved a bunch. Also, used priceline.com for hotel rooms and got the Amsterdam Hilton for £40 a night.

whattodo - walk from Dam sq to Leidseplein, go up one of the maincanals - prinsen, keizers or Heren Gracht. or Single - most beautiful - and do it at night, the two best places to go out are at Leidseplein - Melkweg and Paradiso.....(Pink haired girl might disagree )

what not to do - check the Bulldog or equivalent, get totally spangled when some Moroccan dude passes you a doobie - thenstagger out and get involved in find the lady or equivalent ....youll lose everything !
