Just read this topic, thanks for posting it up, does it actually make much noticeable difference when riding through 2nd and 3rd?

Interesting build LJH, looking forward to reading more.

I'm not sure it feels any faster (technically it will be slightly) but it definately feels more lively and the engine sounds a bit more smoother/grunty/V-twinier...

Fraid it doesn't make a blind bit of difference, and is not worth bothering.

Same as buying a TRE.

I've done this, so save yourself the bother

Drop a tooth on the front sprocket and buy an R6 throttle tube.

Ultimate mod is to buy some Pointy intake cams and swap the cams round.

mmmm i like adding pointy bits Have thought about a cam swap, but unlikely I`ll end up doing it.

what does an r6 throttle tube do then?

Instead of having to twist the throttle 3 or 4 turns to full open, it reduces it to about half a turn to full open.

So inessence its a quick action throttle, although not the same as a proper race one.

Cost £10

Still got to do mine, its sitting in the garage

I maybe exagerating a bit, but the OEM cuvy throttle does have a lot of travel to full open doesn't it and for the cost of the throttle tube its worth it

As said not noticeable to acceleration but i'm sure its smoother, obviously it does do something as having the ignition retarded is not good.
Haven't heard of the r6 throttle mod, i've always thought the sv650 one was rubbish, may do this too.

Just discovered my throttle turns just over 1/4 of a turn from closed to fully open! Wasn't mentioned on the list of MOD's when i bought it, would this be the R6 throttle MOD?

The standard sv650 throttle is 1/4 90degrees but the r6 is 1/5 72degrees.
