Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
I'm not a whisky drinker but I worked at Glendronach distillery for 9 years
had a few of them straight from the cask mmmm very nice, don't like any whisky from the bottle though. I can also see the distillery from my window |

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
I have to say that so far Highland Park is the smoothest i have tried.
at the moment i have on the go Glenmorangie Glenkinchie Just found out on facebook that an old mate of mine is a blender at the Glencadam Distillery in Brechin and he is going to Maltstock in Holland soon...trying to get free tickets of him

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Oban; I love it. I've only got the regular 14 years, that's about the limit of my price range
I've also got some Glenkinchie, Dalwhinnie and Glenmorangie in. All regular stuff really, I'd love to experience more |

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Talisker for me. When I did the tour they gave us a small sample of a special cask but at £300 a bottle it would be wasted on me
Come to think of it every time I have whisky I end up wasted Another bit of controversy to throw into the equation How do you drink it? I like a couple of drops of water added to a single malt. As for the run of the mill blended proprietry brands a ginger ale into a double as a long drink Last edited by Dicky Ticker; 31-08-09 at 09:38 AM. |

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
I love Whiskey in the purest form. Basically in a proper Whiskey glass with no ice lol
As its quite expensive i only tend to drink it at the bells or when i go to dinner at a friends and they pop the malts on the table So far I have tried: Oban Talisker Dalwhinnie Grouse Jura Glenfiddich Auchentoshan Glenmorangie So far Dalwhinne and the Oban have been the best. Not too smokey and the they go down a treat

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Bowmore 25 (if feeling super extravagant), bowmore 18 (if feeling flush) otherwise you can't go wrong with Balvennie
