Pub will still be open for business as usual though? When you say they can't stay open, are they open for food at all, and if so until what time?

Yes the pubs will be open as usual but note that there is no taxi service to or from Killin. The taxi was only going to be available if there were sufficient numbers for the restaurant as it comes from Tyndrum apparently. So, if anyone is hoping to go to the pub they will need to find their own way. The restaurant was only going to stay open for our group. It closes at 8.

50 miles each way or so. Fun ride too, back via Lochgilphead if you really want some sport

There are apparently plenty chippies in Oban. Fish and chip supper for me I think

OK, thanks.

I found this on google

Killin Kabs
1 Pier Road
Killin
Perthshire
FK21 8TL

Telephone: 01567 820777

Can't imagine they'll have many cars so maybe best book ahead if you want one. I wouldn't guarantee in the Scottish highlands that you can phone for a cab and expect it to be there 10 mins later. If they are a small company, or just one man and his car, and they have a run into Perth, or taking a family to the airport for their holidays, it could be hours before they have a car available. That's just the way it works up there.

If you are coming up from England and arriving about dinner time, it might be an idea to stop en-route for food. Once you get north of civilisation, most pubs will stop serving food at 8 or 9pm.

Exit Junction 9 of the M80 or the M9 signposted A91 Stirling (same junction number on both motorways), and you are a two minutes from a Premier Travel Inn with an attached pub/restaurant serving the usual cheap pub grub. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=prem...173&gl=uk&z=12
