Ahem! This road is used to train us how to drive at advanced level at work. Some of the bends are sneaky. Talking from experience at driving the road using the limit point technique!!

i was down the borders in april.we went to ayr for a run and just kept going.ended up going down to patna,through dalmelington and into st johns on the a713.we then turned onto the a702 upto moniave and then thornhill.
i had only been down here in the works van years ago, before i got the bike and i have to say the roads are amazing.some of the bends did have a lot of loose gravel on them and as for the laybys its easier stoping on sand as my mate jim found out to his peril.

ram jam your going to have fun getting rid of those chicken strips on the new bike

Yeah buddy should be a good day if the weathers nice. Defo need to get rid of those poof lines. Haven't been down that way on teh bike at all so i may get left behind

I'm coming from the South Side......

Settled then - meet up at McDonalds Hamilton 8:30am with a full tank of juice. Get a quick brekkie (if you haven't had one already), and be ready for the off at 9am.. There's a Jet fuel station just up from the retail park heading for Larkhall (on the right hand side)if you need fuel.

I'm only going down the mway as far as stonehouse/larkhall, then cutting off for the more fun road to Moffat. Anybody who wants to try my way down is more than welcome to tag along..

If MBK is giving you all a heads up I would take heed. Had a demo drive from Strathclyde police and definately increased my respect for their driving. They corner very smoothly but Bl**dy fast...what a complete Blast..
