Provided your visas and other paperwork are in order, that shouldn't be a problem...

Erm, they say they have an outdoor shelter with space for 40 with washing and drying facilities. I'm not sure if this is avalable for us, but I guess so, plus I'm sure they'd let us hang stuff there overnight.

Nah, first immutable law of packing, you'll always fill all the available space, and still have to put something essential in your pockets

1) Everyone's welcome of course! Lots of ex-sv owners coming for instance. Combatfred's Busa is exactly 2 SVs
2) The main event is the 16th, including the main rideout. However, it's become a weekender, with a second rideout now running on the sunday.
3) Oh yes, absolutely. If you're coming all this way then it's well worth stretching things out- the base camp is well located for sightseeing or riding, too. I think quite a few people are making a long weekend of it, me included! Or, Scotland is well equipped with good campsites, if you're thinking of moving on drop me a PM as I know a few decent ones from past trips.

Oh yes, another possibility for you guys (and for everyone else of course, but you have a particularily long trip) is that Cupar Motorcycles hires Vstrom thous for £90 per day, DL650s for £80, SV-Ss for £70 and SV-Ns for £60. They discount for over 3 days too. This needs more investigating but it might work out more effective than riding up. I've contacted them today to find out a bit more about their hire op, I'll see what comes back. There's other hire shops in scotland of course but it'd be nice to get the right bike!

They have a bad weather shelter which has washing machines and driers, plus drying racks etc- to be fair it could be very busy there if it's wet though, and it's not secure.

It rains less in Scotland than it does on ARs The best bet is to stay dry in the first place though- good waterproofs etc are definately a good idea

Worth noting http://www.rentamotorcycle.co.uk/ are Glasgow based, rent Moto Guzzi. There's also a Harley dealer in Glasgow that does rental if thats what you fancy, but it's expensive. Perth motorcycles are the sister dealership to Cupar and also hire bikes. Different models as they are a Kawasaki dealer, but they are closer to the camp site and perhaps easier to get to if coming up the M74 or from Glasgow, and you don't want a Moto Guzzi. If coming from Edinburgh side, use Cupar.
