Vintage film cameras
Picked up a thirties roll film camera from the car boot but it has a fungus problem. On the plus side, the Zorki 4 arrived today, its a Russian copy of a Leica.
How often do you see made in USSR? Its a 35mm coupled range finder. I have some poundland film to run through it as well as some black and white film on order. Also ordered a black and white 620 film for the Duaflex. Sent from my Xperia T

Re: Vintage film cameras
Got some black and white 620 film for the Duaflex. I order from Retro Photo Supplies if anyone is thinking of trying a vintage camera.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Good score with the rangefinder. For someone who said their other half would fill them in if they bought an SLR, you've got almost everything else! However check this out
http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/product...y-hd_100398894 cheap as chips, probably an easy fix or just g-clamp it shut when the film is in. Only thing not to like is the stop-down metering |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well she is in to knitting so it's a fair trade off. Told her she would just have to deal with it otherwise. I have set limits though, must cost £20 or less including postage.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Can anyone advise settings for the Zorki? Loaded with iso 200 film an likely to be cloudy tomorrow. Would 1/125 and f8 do or 1/250 f5.6? The camera is completely manual.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Sounds about right, if in doubt go a stop brighter. Am still working my way through my first 120 film which is Ilford FP4 ISO125, according to the instructions it will tolerate 2 stops too dark or 6 too bright. Count them, 6! A lot of people set the ISO to half the box speed anyway as a way of exposing for the dimmer bits (shadows is a strong word), and certainly from my own pics, overexposure is preferential to underexposure any day of the week.
Have you seen the Pocket Light Meter app? It's for iphone/ipad, my wife has one. There are others but this is the best. Not all phones can have their light meter accessed for an app e.g. my Galaxy Ace can't. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Cheers for the lightmeter app tip. Just added one. Will see how it gets on.
