It's not more dangerous than any other dangerous activities.

Jumping out of a plane without a parachute means certain death - actually no it doesn't , getting on a bike without leathers doesn't. They are not comparible at all.

Jumping out of a plane with a parachute, now thats comparible, 'cos the chute might not open (don't know what the odds are but it does happen), you might break a leg on landing, just the same as riding without leathers you might come off and loose your skin.
Ok I get your point - well sort of, but I can't thinking you're just trying to justify a stupid action.

Looks like the I know better brigade was here.

I wear proper gear all the time but I would never make a fuss about people wearing t-shirt and shorts on a bike. A bit daft? yes, perhaps; but don't look at them and automatically assume that's how they always ride their bike. They could be just popping around the block to dry their bike out, post a letter etc. Just keep your eye on the road and stop being such old women

I always wear my gear, except..

one day I was riding the bike less then half a mile away to swim in a local reservoir, I wore shorts and t shirt then ..... but I think the bikini underneath would have saved me! I did feel vulnerable, and its not something I would do regularly, but there was no way i was putting on all my kit for that .... I guess very occasionally it just has to be done

Go on, lecture me about swimming in resser's now!

Just see what you look like after you slide down the road wearing jeans and t-shirts, well what the limbs you have left will look like! Crap on the road will in bed itself into your skin, people have lost limbs months afterwords because of the infections!

I see a guy quite often on a ZX6R in the summer with his shorts, t-shirt, helmet, gloves and boots on.
