I bought an EXO2 heated waistcoat a couple of weeks ago. I get cold on the bike quite easily but my main problem is the circulation in my hands shutting down very quickly.

I've only used the waistcoat a couple of times since I bought it - but one trip did include London to South Wales, and my hands didn't 'shut down' until just over the Severn Bridge - ie a couple of hours! About 1 hour and 55 minutes longer than usual.

I would highly recommend the waistcoat - it feels so niiiiiice. I'm now no longer dreading long winter journeys. It's not cheap - but for me it's a worthwhile investment.

I just got myself a Keis heated waistcoat and power pack. Brilliant thing, snug under any jacket.....

Ideal for dog walking, and on the bike at 6am when it's freezing

I recommend anyone to get these if you do lots of winter riding they are highly useful, and you can concentrate more

And the Gerbing is made/designed for motorcycle use.
Once you wear the jacket liner for the first time, you'll wonder why you didn't buy on of these years ago and you will never be without one, ever again.
You can be as warm as on a summer day even in the coldest weather.

Proper kit for winter riding.

It's this stuff by the way, you need to scroll up a bit to see the Storm Rider vest.

Yes, me!

It's the utter business - really works brilliantly, I've also got the optional handlebar mounted controller, no question it's expensive, but it makes riding in the cold really comfortable.
The best thing about it is the lack of bulk, you don't need to be wrapped up so you look like the Michelin Man to stay warm, and keeping your core temperature high keeps your circulation working properly - extremities don't get cold.
Lots of money, but if you ride all year 'round I can't recommend it highly enough.

Thanks Mr Squid & Bananaman, that gives me food for thought at least!

Do I a) go for it, having for the first time in my life come up with a decent xmas present idea with 2 months spare, but spending way over what I'd originally planned for, or

b) wait till 4pm on Xmas eve as usual and panic buy some tat.

The promise of avoiding all shops for the month of December is too strong for me, I think this'll do nicely!
