I find I only go off like a rocket if I make it and stay on the bike, then the offender (never me of course) gets both barrels

The few times somebody has had us off (never a ped though), I have just been relieved to be OK, get the situation sorted, and start dreaming of big insurance payouts and faster bikes!

Glad the two of you are ok ...physically!..... It usually all goes bad for the road user if the ped had got injured no matter whose fault.

Maybe get one of those mad loud Fiamm or similar horns fitted to the bike to sort your head out and then let combat resume!

I'm glad I didn't do something incredibly stupid the other night in that case

I was driving down a local road, and up ahead I noticed one young lad on the left hand pavement facing his 2 mates who were stood on a traffic island to the right (positioned centrally in the road). I was doing 30mph (in a 30 zone), but when I saw their demeanour I started to slow down because I thought, "They are playing chicken with the traffic". The one on the left appeared to be laughing, whilst one of the kids on the right was leant forward looking like he was ready to run across the road at the last possible second (Darwin Awards thread starting to come to mind!) ... anyway I'm glad I did slow down, as the c0cky little tw*t steps out ... but to my astonishment he WALKS SLOWLY across the road causing me to brake harder and quicker, but at the last second, I almost ... ALMOST decided to accelerate and hit the little sh*t just to teach him a lesson.

Glad I didn't ... just beeped my horn at him ... but then drove off thinking, "I bet the AIM of their dangerous little game was to actually get me to beep my horn at them"

They won. Well done. One day they won't be quite so lucky!

(Especially if Mr-souped-up-Nova/Clio-driving-chav-maniac decides to cane it down that stretch of road - in which case the gene pool gets double discount!)

Good plan, though remember that half the peds are using iPods! These are a well-known method of protection from traffic, along with having a mobile phone against your ear...

that's quality!! PSML.

sorry to hear of this grinchy. i would not have been that calm. i just can't help it!! have always been a red blooded male i got hit in a car park not long after passing my test. managed to hold the thing upright thankfully, got off and proceeded to give the offending woman a large piece of my badly phrased mind. i was so mad i was shaking, i then proceeded to park up and go and play my hockey match, which by that time i was even more up for than usual
