Enough to blow yer skirt up and think the speedo is reading in KPH

Power and torque is much the same as VTR/SV1000 but its feel is way different. A lot more money to run though.

Upgrades?Twins without free flowing pipes is bad karma, ......man!

I would still have a jap v-twin , some say soft, but still need respecting, I know to my cost

Give me "extra" road going weight and any speed baroomba than 600/1000cc supapowa and il4 light weight flightyness.

Id say it depends on how you ride. If you thrash it everwhere at high revs then yea itll drink like George Best, but if you ride in high gear with low revs and keep a decent average speed you should do well.

One of my mates has a Tuono factory, looks absolutely gorgeous. I've sat on it and it seems very high, (I'm only 5'8" though), bars are in a great position.

He chopped a 2004 Blade in for his and doesn't regret it at all. I've followed him when he was still running it in below 5000 rpm and he still accelarated away from me on my GSX-R600 K7!

I would certainly consider one based on looks and obvious performance, I guess you just have to consider the (probably) high insurance / running costs and whether you like the ride. (I bet you will! )

Cheers,
Matt

I'm selling my '07 ZX6R and getting a Tuono 1000 R. Every review says it's bonkers with amazing handling. Negative points are some of the added on parts to cover the essentials don't look great but I think this bike looks menacing and simply sexy in blue/white. I can't wait to get on one. Interestingly it's seat height is 820mm which is the same as my Ninja which I never thought was all that tall.

Ive just got a falco, not managed to get out on it yet (cheers bennetts ) but from what I read exhausts are a must (obviously...) also might be worth trying to get a Eprom chip upgrade... though that isnt a must.

Some people mention changing the rear shock. Comming from SV's I think we will worry a little less about that but If you ride it and dont like the rear you arnt alone.

All models (unless already done) have a airbox/ECU limiter on them check it out here, easy to remedy.

A good en should have about 118-120BHP at crank (stock) and around 105BHP at back wheel. So not bad at all! If you want to spend a bit of money 135+BHP is accessable (120+rear wheel).

0-60 3.4Seconds
0-100 7.4 seconds
Topspeed ~155-160MPH.

All the writups ive read have said they are VERY capable bikes and make better road bikes than most (some people also go round tracks better on them then they do on RSV's!).

Fual consumption can be a worry, as low as 25MPG, BUT it seems the battery charge level effects this, normally on a good run upto 50MPG isnt uneard of. I think another top investment is a top notch battery as the rotax like the BMW's eat them if they arnt upto spec!

Side stand is a little dodgy, replacing it is a good idea I think...

Other than these fairly little things its reliable and supposed to be VERY fun to ride.

If you want to keep an eye on what I think when I finally get out on it on the 11th (all things going right) then keep an eye on this thread and ill write up on it vs SV.

P.S. Can you tell I did my homework?
