Last time I did shims on a Gixer 750 SRAD I used Triumph ones from the dealer up the road. Most bike shops have a big 'box of drawers' with shims that are interchangeable between makes of bike. There's only 3 different diameters IIRC.

I once had a similar arguement with a girl on a desk.

It was a peugeot garage and at the time I had a S2 106 Rallye. I wanted a new bonnet sticker but was told...

'I'm sorry, peugeot never made those perhaps a previous owner stuck the stickers on it, young owners often do this'

I tried to explain it was 1 of 500 and not that well known but now she argued until she was blue in the face, i then showed the bloke next to her where it was on their dodgy computer system and ordered one through him making her look very stupid.

If she had just listened

Im gonna have a go at doing it myself, to check the clearances doesnt actually look that difficult, only a little awkward at getting in there on cylinder 1. My tax reminder came in, as well as my insurance renewal on the car. OUCH!
