Use a blow torch ... the idea is that you will be heating the link pipe and it will expand - if you get the heat in there quick enough before the heat travels to the pipe inside (expanding that), you will break the seal it has made and you can then manhandle the thing apart!!

Right, gonna get me a blowtorch now.

Get a few rags wrapped around your hands and pull it off when the exhaust is still hot!
