I was however quite content sat up in my room with my head in a book, usually the Famous Five and other such adventure stories haha. All one needs is a little imagination!

Remember as a kid 7/8yr old,we built a treehouse,it was only about 10ft up a tree and i was sat on the end swinging my legs.
All of a sudden i leant forward to far and toppled head first into the biggest sloppiest cow pat you've ever seen in your life.

(Well they say sh*t happens,lol.)

Pretty much the same as Tomcat...

Where I live, the nearest forest/woods is a pretty far trek, so we go in the car & take the tools with us. Last time we went there, we found 5-6 tree houses that we'd built before, but that didn't stop us making another. Sometimes it's the traditional style treehouse, other times it's proper survival type shelters. Depends really.

I also have all the local kids knocking on the door asking me to fix their bikes etc - but then, even as a kid I was fixing other people's bikes.

when we were kids there were 5 of us that used to hang round together, then there were my bro's mates. Now the woods we used to play in is gone...under the posh housing at the bottom of my mums road.
When my dad was a lad he used to play in the fields below, as back then, the woods was actually a mansion house. The field had cows in it...and wells.
we used to go grass sledging down the slopes in summer on cardboard...much fun...but didn't half make you get burns on your legs..ouch. In winter it wer ace for snow down there.
The famous cherry tree was a favourite haunt for us, it had one great big long branch that swept down onto the ground making it really easy to climb, I used to practise my bar technique on that and balancing for the beam, as i was a gymnast back then. My mate fell out of it one day, and broke her arm.....it didn't stop us playing there.
the local round table even used to have a masiive bonfire down there. Such a shame its all gone to housing. It was safe for all of us to play there. If it was still there I'd still think it were safe for Dylan to play there. If it were round where I live I wouldn't let him near, which is why I have plans to get out of here with Im Indoors to give Dylan a childhood that contains good old fashioned kids play instead of TV, chavs, XBox etc. Somewhere with fields nearby or even a tree house of our own in the bottom of the garden

We had a wicked tree on our farm that was completely hollow inside. we used to climb up and then slip down inside. My dad got a bit annoyed when we made a fireplace in there though - something about burning down the field of wheat next to the tree

Great fun going to find conkers & trying not to let the dogs hear you etc. Then running like mad when they did. Head to the block of flats as both doors open inwards, run in first door, let it swing shut, if the dog follows you, tough, run through the next door & pull it shut.

Never did find out how the flat owners coped with a p*d off guard dog in the corridor...

Is it as cunning as a fox what used to be professor of cunning at Oxford University, but has moved on, and is now working for the UN at the high commission of international cunning planning?

If so then that's very cunning
