I fill up around £30 a week in my car because the nature of my job requires a fair bit of travelling all over North London plus weekely drives to Wembley..it leaves a huge dent in my poor purse so I try and save money when I can; i.e. never use the car on weekends and use my lil legs and the dreaded bus.

If I have short journeys and need to travel between sites for work then I'll reluctantly use the bus/train or walk.

Motorway driving is really economical - im not a motorway driver and bravely drove all the way to brighton on the M25 and M23 yesterday 70/80mph (what was I worried about...? ) and used up hardly any fuel!

Its annoying how everything just keeps rising, if I have to start putting in £40 a week petrol I think i'll just stop using my car...

was talking to cuz about this the other day and the only time we dont moan about fuel prices is when were filling the bikes pound for pound the bike is far too much fun so even if it was £2 per litre i'd still buy it and enjoy my bike thing is i dont really ride her that much, at the moment its about 100 miles per week, so i do feel for those of you who commute daily on your trusty steeds and have to fill up regular. :

I have started noticing the shopping trip is costing more lately a silly thing like bog roll, I swear has increased by 60p this last 2 months, and since when did 4 pints of milk cost so much! Maybe its because i've had a wage cut and hav to watch the pennies a little more

As for fuel, a year ago travelling down to france, from the fuel light i could fill her up for between £7.50-£8.50, and stand there without staring at the price flying up to know how much it'll be....these days I have to watch the numbers going up as its not so simple to guess. Now, from the fuel light(it only flashes a couple of mins before I finf a station here) to the top....well I won't do that anymore, as out of principal I won't put more than a tenner in her. I reckon it'll cost nearer £12-£14 to fill her in this way now
food has gone through the roof! or more importantly; basics have. My focus costs £70+ to fill up I do a car share through the week and it's still hurting (about 80 mile round journey to work). Instead of the governement launching all these costly campaigns to make us slimmer, why not use that money to subsidise fresh fruit and veg?

£49 today for me on three...but it was all squashed in those recycled green bags, which are a bit bigger. They don't like you to use their normal ones at ours anymore
