Well

Fitted mine today, bought the nut for the bottom bolt by getting the part number from ron ayers, go to fit it, too big... ARGHHHHHH its 5.30 how am i going to get one now looked around workshop and luckily found one but the bike back together, set the rear preload up, softed both damping settings by one click and a bit more front preload went and tested and omg i love it went through a lane i frequent weekly and i must of gained 10mph (considering this is 8.30 at night) even got my toe down through the lanes (which i have only done on roundabouts) big improvement, need to play a bit more though

This seems to be a well liked mod for the sv's. I just purchased a k4 myself for my first bike - what kind of bobs would this modification set me back (Front & Rear)?

May be something I would look into in a few months...

Front anywhere from nowt to £100-200 after you've sold all your bits (tip is to buy as much Gixer front end stuff as you can in one hit i.e. as complete as possible and preferably in the winter when prices are cheaper).

Rear shock you should get for £40-50 all year round.

Rear shock is around the £50 mark , front springs tend to be around £75 , have a look at Hyperpro/Maxton/Hagon kits , there are other makes too . The "For Sale" section on this site sometimes throws up this kit . I think there is a shock for sale in one of the threads there at the moment , give me a moment and I will link it .

Nobody has mentioned GSXR front ends in this thread , we have only talked about GSXR Rear Shocks and better Springs for the front . Complete front end swaps have been done to death in other threads and I would rather keep that out of this thread to not confuse the issue anymore .

Cheers lads - won't have the funds for it just yet and heading on hols for two weeks next sat so will be Aug / Sept before I look into this.

So I should get a GSXR 1000 shock for around the 50 mark - then either replace the front end with a gsxr front end 100/200 or just a spring kit and oil upgrade for the current front end.

Think this may happen over the winter though as it seems to greatly improve the handling...
