I got the fork leg on the shock heli-coiled so that I didn't need a longer bolt and could use the orginal SV one. Also if you are prepared to move the fuse box with a little soldering then you can still use the orginal battery, and make a little tray for the battery to sit in.

Just called the local dealer to ask about the bolt, but "they can't log on to the kawasaki system without a frame number", even if I have the part number...
So, guess who won't be fitting a shock to his bike this weekend...
Or maybe someone can help??

Cheers

THe orginal SV bolt is the same size if you get the fork leg heli-coiled.

Yup, it's a steel threaded insert.

The problem with clearance with your twin Rene's, do you mean the chain is fouling on the second exhaust pipe or is the sidestand touching down?

I will take a photograph tonight , what happens is the chain fouls the exhaust link pipe.

Is anyone else having difficulty getting ahold of the screw/bolt for the kwak?

Now I've seen the photos I realise yours is not the same version as mine, as I have the B1H.

Mine is like this -

Shock and swingarm

Just see the Hel-coil in the middle of the photo

Bolt clearance.

Swing arm and shock again

same.

I have the C1H, I assume it's not enough just to thread the fork end (or is it?)
Who makes the inserts or does the shock have to be send away?
Or maybe one of you could try and get one for me and send it up here (for what I would pay)?

Helicoil insert. Or just use a longer suspension bolt... like the kwacker one...

Chris, my local kwak dealer won't help me without a frame number...
Where can I get (and which one) a helicoil insert and how's it done?
