no matter if the first was more relivant, the spelling od basic words was a joke. And Baph as for your bus driver theory, what happens if they have to write a report for any reason?? accident , death on board etc. I am sure the employer would want them to at least look competent??

keithd, nail, head, hit!

Tim, thanks for the link, it highlights just what I was trying to illustrate.

There's one mark in this argument!! Again, without seeing the paper the kids were given, it's a little rediculous to comment on where marks could/should of been given/removed.

F_S, remember, that these are SATs, and not GCSE's. SATs are marked in the fashion of "Where can I take away marks?" and GSCEs are approached with "Can I give marks for this?" ... two completely seperate approaches to grading.

It's not the drivers responsiblity to produce written reports. They have a chat with an interviewer for that very purpose.

My dad used to be a bus driver, before he was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes & had his PCV licence revoked by DVLA. Not that his spelling was that poor though.

EDIT: Not even cash handling is the drivers responsibility any more. I remember my dad bringing shed loads of cash home years ago to count by hand. Now, they just dump it in a machine before going home.

Ahem... may I remind you of

"There were wombs covering all of her body"
and
"psychological tournament"

?

That's what GCSE level looks like if year 7 looks like that.

I'm more concerned about employing Americans to mark the papers. How long before 'color' and 'flavor' are considered acceptable?
