He can be funny, when he wants to. Very good brain in there somewhere, but he does keep it well hidden.

Thank you ThEGr33k!!!! Certainly we are in the minority but.... Not all Americans are the same. (read stupid) And it's painfully obvious to those of us (Americans) with a wee bit of intelligence that the rest of the world (Including most in the UK) have no idea what life in America is really like. The image that most people have/percieve of the US is based on TV and life in the big cities like NY & LA, etc. And of course when people travel to the US where do they go??? The major cities. If I had to live in a major US city or act as those people do.... I'd have to move!!! People who live where I live seldom agree with or even like "city folk". Granted while the image the world has fits the majority of Americans...... It generally ****es the rest of us off to be cast in a lot with them. ![]() EDIT: Note that I am offended here and hope I have offended none as well. I think the average person (not in the US) would be shocked at what life is really like for those of us who live in the rural areas of the US. At least where I live. This section of the US was settled by Britts and Scots and many people from the UK still immigrate to this area today. Here is a pic that may surprise some... From a rideout in the nearby town of Bedford in Virginia. (Virginia was Englands first colony BTW) Note the two flags fixed on every lamp pole. ![]() Detail of flags: ![]() Last edited by BanannaMan; 10-09-08 at 04:23 AM. |

You'd be right. While it doesn't rain here quite as often as in England.... Yes life here in the small towns and out in the country is much like the UK from Virginia north through New England and also in the mountain areas of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Note: Big cities in any state here are all the same as are most of the people who live there. |
