They do some weird sh*t to pelvis breakers! Don't worry about the swollen/bruised accessories, they will recover in there own time.

Here's my account of how this happened, I've posted it on my local forum and everyones blaming my inexperience as a rider (only 2 years ex) wonder what you guys tink.
Right I no doubt will be condemned in this thread and in the insurers eyes I'm already to blame (as they always blame the person who impacts last). I won't mention names but coppers have agreed with me a stupidly placed speed camera was a massive contributing factor to my crash "most don't save lives they just distract people" .
I had a crash on my bike at the weekend (before anyone says no I wasn't leathering it I don't see the point on straights and don't in residential areas anyway). I approached a cross roads and a driver almost went out on me (jutted forwards a foot or so) but thankfully thought better of it as I'd approached the crossroads I'd made my road positioning central. It was a 50 zone and a very short space after the crossroads is a speed camera (I'm probably going to measure when I'm more mobile if it's worth it) as I left the danger zone of the cross roads I had a glance behind me to make sure the idiot wasn't following me and also to 'lifesaver' before correcting my positioning; I then checked my speedo as I entered the speed camera zone, 45mph, looked infront of me there was a dark car, checked the speedo again as I was still in the cameras zone and had subconsciously slowed to 40ish (speedcamera paranoyer) looked back up and realised that the car must be slowing or stopped. It was 5pm and there was a bright sun low behind me so I couldn't make out brake lights or indicators at all, the car had stopped to turn down a small country road (literally about 50-100 yards after the camera. I'll have to check that distance though as I'm crap with estimates but I went passed today and it's a shockingly short distance especially on a fast road). I applied the brakes but almost instantly felt my head impact with his car.
Just after the forums views.

The bloke didn't bother to get out his car until I was neckbraced up and 'escaping' in the ambulance where he suddenly sprinted up and hassled me for my insurance details which I gave him.
I know a lot of people will blame me for looking at my speedo (literally a split second as you do) and everyone else will be able to determine their speed by the sound of the engine and the way the pitch of the wind going past them but I was on a new bike and with only 6 points on my license (clean license) can't afford to rack up any points as if I lose my license I lose me job.

I know I'll have to test they're in working order
I'll let you know the worst phrase you can hear when you can't move your legs let alone run is "sir I'm going to have to inspect your back passage" I screamed and screamed I never actually said he could I'm sure that's rape.
And to boot there was a really fit trainee doctor to witness the whole episode.
On the plus side I forgot about all pain in my pelvis for a brief second.

I think you're going to have to take it on the chin. You let yourself get distracted by the camera and didnt pay enough attention to what was going on around you.

Remember what I said before about forward planning and observation, thats all it is.

Just let the insurance worry about it and chalk it down to experience and concentrate on getting well, its done now, no point over analysing whats happened...

Hope you get well soon.
