iv got an s and had the same sort of questions as you before i got it. I think its great i have a bitubo shock coming from the states to get rid of the standard rear suspension then sending front of to maxton and should be transformed. She was ok the way she was but had a slight tendency to wiggle a bit when turning in quite fast and wouldnt stay planted. I think one of the mayor issues is you have to respect it 60is only like an inch up the speedo so can be very essay to run very fast into corners! Get it!!

Yes and know, a lot of the components did come from them though. The 750cc original engine cam from them, only top-end work was mostly done.

109.6 bhp with 63ft/Ib

The only issue I ever had was with a component failure, this was later inspected and turned out to be a fault with the part which was redesigned after the manufacturer looked at it. I will admit that the 800 gets a little more work and checks done than any other SV, it became an 800cc earlier this year but the 7-8 years it was a 750cc it was 100% reliable and used as a daily commuter for a few of these years.

That is just for the top end work, I don't recommend a 750cc without bottom end work as it is a waste of money because you are not using the full potential of the components and I would certainly not recommend a 800cc with just top end work.

It has taken 8-9 years to get it to the stage it is now.

well dont commute much just now but em BAZ and saoralba can vouch for its filtering capabilities on the way to and from st andrews on the ice cream run!! It is slightly wider than the sv tho and the main problem for filtering the mirrors dont fold in! The reason i am not commuting so much just now as i live in the north east of scotland just about every morning ice on the roads now and if there's not ice there is so much water lying at the minute not to mention all the salt so just trying to keep it a bit nice just now. Also dont believe all you here about fuel consumption it used 1 less litre of fuel than saoralba pointy between aberdeen and dundee and em i didnt hang about. Pics are in another thread somewhere but you twisted my arm and i will post some more. If you can get one for the £1500 mark, you can then get new rear shock about £500 depending on type, and fronts redone by maxton £290ish. THen by what i can hear completely transforms it, the only bad moment i had was turning in cough fast and it shook a little but it was ok.

Because it will go pop.

You could build a motor like that quite quickly given enough cash... hell send jhs a blank cheque, and you'll have 100bhp in a fortnight ... the thing that takes the serious skill is porting the heads and revalving. Just a moderate skim and clean up is easy, but the big-valve heads you need to use a flow bench and lots of experience to get port shapes that work for good power all over not just top end.

One thing I don't get is why JHS recommend wiseco pistons on their website? They weight a lot more than stock, CP will sell you some pistons at same bore etc which save 11 grams and increase the bore!
