![]() Yes it does fling off....all over your wheel. But it flings what it needs off in the first run after doing it. I much prefer to clean off the excess once after oiling the chain than every trip, like with a scotoiler. But then I must be a weirdo for not wanting one

I would recommend a Scotoiler if you are doing lots of mileage.
The reason being, fling and muck aside, a chain / sprocket set can last up to three times longer with a Scotoiler which means that one chain and sprocket set being replaced will pay for the cost of the Scotoiler. If however I didn't commute (which I soon won't be) then I probably wouldn't have it on there.
